DIY bath salts using essential oils
There is nothing that can beat a relaxing bath filled with therapeutic essential oils after a long and stressful day. Bath salts with essential oils are easy to make and economical which can be added to your self- care routine. There are just so many benefits of making these lovely bath salts and these are some of it:
- Rejuvenating
- All natural with no synthetics or artificial ingredients
- Impress others with gifts
- Customizable according to your needs
- Helps to remove toxins from skin
- Temporarily soothe muscle aches
- Improves mood and relieves stress
- Moisturizes and soothes irritated and dry skin
To make these bath salts, diluting the essential oils with a carrier oil is essential. As oils and water don’t mix, adding undiluted essential oils to bath salts could potentially burn your skin. Mixing the essential oils with a carrier oil first helps to moisturize your skin. Adding the diluted essential oils to the salt causes the oils to disperse in your bath readily.
Here are the basics of making your own salt bath:
2 cups sea salt / epsom salts, or any combination of two
15-30 drops of essential oils- see below for recommendations.
1 tbsp carrier oil (jojoba, coconut, olive or others)
Combine the salts with essential oil and carrier oil.
Use ¼ - ½ cup in your bath. Relax and Enjoy!
